They work with engineers and project managers to ensure precise installation, interpret blueprints, perform welding, and use specialized tools, all while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Key skills include pipe installation, repair, welding, system layout, blueprint reading, troubleshooting, and testing of piping systems. Candidates must also be familiar with OSHA safety standards, confined space protocols, and both naval and commercial shipyard requirements.
